About Us

Welcome to Shooters Hill Forum

Shooters Hill Forum is a community space for people who call this corner of South East London home.
Whether you're up on the hill, down in Plumstead, over in Eltham, or anywhere nearby - if you consider this your patch, you're welcome here.
Come to chat with neighbours, find out what's happening locally, get recommendations for tradespeople, or buy and sell stuff without the algorithm chaos of Facebook Marketplace.

Our Area

We're centred on Shooters Hill, but this is a forum for the whole neighbourhood - wherever you draw the boundaries.
For general chat, events, and recommendations - if you're local, you're local. No postcode checks required.
For the Marketplace - we keep classifieds to items available for collection nearby. This keeps it genuinely useful (no "collection from Birmingham" posts cluttering things up). Our patch covers:
SE18 · SE9 · SE3 · SE7 · SE10 · DA16 · DA15
Basically: if you can bus to Oxleas Woods, you're probably in range.

Who Runs This?

Hi, I'm Steve - I've lived in South East London for over 20 years, and on Shooters Hill for the last 3. Before that I was in Greenwich, Lewisham, East Dulwich, and Peckham.
I was inspired by the East Dulwich Forum to set this up. I saw how valuable a proper local community space could be, and wanted something similar for this part of South East London.
I built this because I wanted somewhere to actually connect with neighbours. Somewhere local recommendations don't get buried in an algorithm. Somewhere you can sell your old sofa to someone who can actually come and pick it up.
This is a side project I run in my spare time, so it's not perfect - but I'm always working on it. If you spot something broken or have ideas for making it better, I'd genuinely love to hear from you.
